Aviation

YR Geotechnical materials are mainly used in the aviation field as follows:

Airport runway construction and maintenance

– Strengthening runway foundation

Geogrids play an important role in the construction of airport runway foundation. For example, when constructing some new airport runways, since the foundation soil of the site may be relatively weak, laying geogrids in the runway foundation layer can enhance the bearing capacity of the soil, enable the runway to withstand the huge load generated by aircraft takeoff and landing, and reduce the possibility of uneven settlement of the runway.

– Improve runway drainage

Geotextiles and geocomposite drainage nets can be used in the drainage system of airport runways. They can quickly remove surface water on the runway to prevent water accumulation from affecting the safety of aircraft takeoff and landing. For example, geocomposite drainage materials are set up on the edge and base of airport runways in rainy areas to ensure that the runway can remain in good use even on rainy days.

Airport slope protection

– Stabilizing slopes:

Geotechnical materials can reinforce the slopes around the airport. For some slopes near mountains or formed by fill, the combination of geogrids and vegetation protection can enhance the slope’s anti-slip ability, prevent slope collapse, and avoid threats to airport operations and aircraft safety
